This is the timeline we work to with brides booking in across Teesside, the Tees Valley and County Durham. It covers hair, skin, brows, tan and the wedding morning itself, with realistic windows for each. Whether you’ve got 12 months or six, a structured bridal beauty plan is the difference between a wedding morning that runs to time and one that doesn’t. Why bridal beauty is a timeline, not a checklist
The reason a bridal beauty plan needs a runway is biology. Skin cycles take roughly four weeks, hair colour and condition need consistent appointments to land where you want them on the day, and your skin needs months, not weeks, to respond properly to professional facials. Trying to compress all of that into the final fortnight is where most regrets come from.
A proper bridal beauty timeline also protects you from the two things that derail wedding mornings: trying a new treatment too close to the day, and skipping trials because there’s no time. Both are avoidable when the plan is built early.

The four pillars of a bridal beauty plan
Most plans break into four areas. We’ll book appointments across all four in the run-up to the wedding, with the heaviest activity sitting between the 6-month and 6-week marks.
Skin
A tailored homecare routine plus a course of facials. The earlier this starts, the calmer and clearer the skin will be on the day. Treatments like HYDRO2, CACI and Dermalux LED are common in a bridal beauty plan.
Hair
Colour, condition and any extension work, scheduled so the final pre-wedding cut and colour lands roughly 7 to 10 days before the day. Enough time to settle, not enough time to grow out.
Brows, Lashes & Tan
Brow shaping starts months out so they grow in properly. Lash and tan trials happen well before the wedding, never the night before, so there are no surprises.
Wellbeing
Massage, sleep and stress management in the final stretch. Often overlooked, but it shows up in the skin and in the photographs. We’ll work this into the bridal beauty plan too.
The 12-month bridal beauty timeline
Here’s how the year ahead of the wedding tends to look. Every plan is built around the individual bride, but this is the structure most weddings settle into.
Consultation and Skin Start
Your first consultation, where we map out the full bridal beauty plan. This is when skincare begins in earnest. A tailored AlumierMD routine, an initial facial, and a baseline for everything to come. We’ll also book the rough cadence of hair, brow and tan appointments.
Treatments and Trials
The active phase. Facial courses build through here, hair colour stabilises into the tone you want, and any cosmetic or aesthetic conversations happen at this point so there’s time. Anything new gets tested now, never closer to the day.
Trial Bookings Confirmed
Hair and make-up trials are booked. We recommend the hair and make-up trial around 6 to 8 weeks out, after dress fittings, so the look can be finalised against the actual dress and accessories. Brow shape is locked in by now.
Final Facials and Tan Trial
The skin should be in its best phase. Final-stage facials are timed to land roughly 2 to 3 weeks before the wedding, never the week of. Tan trial happens here too, 4 to 6 weeks out, so you know exactly how your skin responds.
Hair Colour and Cut
Final cut and colour 7 to 10 days before the wedding. Brow tidy a few days before. No new products, no last-minute experiments, no aggressive exfoliation. The skin’s job at this stage is to stay calm.
Tan, Lashes and Rest
Tan typically 1 to 2 days before. Lash appointment in the same window if relevant. The day before is rest, hydration and an early night. The bridal beauty plan’s job by now is to be done.
The wedding morning itself
The bridal beauty work on the day comes down to hair, make-up and timing. A proper bridal beauty schedule on the morning runs in reverse from the ceremony time: photographer arrival, getting into the dress, make-up finish, make-up start, hair finish, hair start. Working backwards from the ceremony tells you exactly when the first appointment of the morning needs to begin.
For bridal parties, we’d always recommend padding the schedule. Hair takes longer with extensions, make-up takes longer with bridesmaids, and the photographer will want time before the dress goes on. The most relaxed wedding mornings we’ve been part of are the ones where the bridal beauty schedule had a built-in buffer.
What if you’ve got less than six months
Plenty of brides come to us with a shorter runway and the bridal beauty plan still works, it just gets tighter. We focus on what gives the biggest return: a proper consultation, a tailored skincare routine, two or three targeted facials, hair colour and condition work, brow shaping, and the hair and make-up trial booked at the 6-week mark. Less time means tighter prioritising, not lower standards.
What we won’t do is try anything aggressive close to the wedding. No first-time peels in the final month, no new injectables in the final fortnight, no untested tan the night before. A condensed bridal beauty plan is still a planned one.
